Jennifer Sargeant - Digital Marketing Professional
Jennifer Sargeant, the creator of Digital Sargeant, started her career, officially, in 2013 as an account manager for Upright Communications, an inbound digital marketing agency located in Cincinnati, Ohio. For five years, Jennifer worked with Upright Communications in both their local and national digital marketing divisions. Quickly excelling in search engine optimization, social media management, local maps optimization, email marketing, buyer insight research, and content marketing.
In 2018, Jennifer accepted a position with the second-largest personal injury law firm in the nation. Additionally, Jennifer serves on the board of directors for Touched by Type 1 and helps bring awareness about the impact Type 1 Diabetes has on millions of children and adults in the nation.
Passionate about digital marketing and living in Clermont, Fl., Jennifer has created many relationships with local business owners within Clermont, Fl. As an ally to local business owners, she often provides free digital marketing advice and strategies to local business owners.
Jennifer Sargeant knew at a young age that she would have a career in marketing. Her parents started an equine grooming product line and small business when she and her brother were in grade school. As the youngest in her family, you could say that Jennifer was very inquisitive about everything. She remembers family discussions about branding elements such as packaging, logo colors, and displaying the product in stores.
While in high school, Jennifer worked full-time at Cingular Wireless (known now as AT&T) as one of the highest-earning sales representatives.
Upon graduating from Durant High School in 2007, Jennifer attended Hillsborough Community College, where she completed her A.A degree. While attending HCC, Jennifer worked full-time at John Robert Powers as an iPop Director, where she sold modeling and acting contracts.
In June 2010, Jennifer accepted a position with a local clothing and memorabilia boutique in Tampa, Fl., known as Hollywood Obsessions. As the operations coordinator, Jennifer was responsible for purchasing merchandise, daily sales, hiring, opening, and closing duties, and reporting to the owner of the shop. She used digital marketing tactics to increase sales and create an online presence for the boutique.
Realizing that the speed of obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree was compromised due to the number of hours she was working, Jennifer decided to accept a position at a local sports bar that would provide her with a flexible schedule. With a flexible schedule and a less demanding job, Jennifer attended the University of South Florida where she studied mass communications with a focus in public relations.
While excelling in her core academic classes at the College of Mass Communications at USF, Jennifer was the leader in almost every class. Quickly realizing the intense competition of landing a job after graduation in her field of study, Jennifer launched her first-ever online portfolio and blog. Using digital marketing tactics yet again as a tool to separate herself from the competition.
After completing an internship with Media Fusion and graduating from USF, Jennifer accepted her first out-of-college position with Upright Communications as an account manager excelling in both the local and national marketing divisions.
After climbing the ladder at Upright Communications, Jennifer accepted a position as the chief digital marketing officer for the second largest personal injury law firm in the nation. Jennifer also serves on the board of directors for Touched by Type 1
Digital Sargeant serves as a passion project for Jennifer. A platform and a hub to share free digital marketing advice to anyone who wants it. A patriot at her core, Jennifer believes that every passion project, side hustle, or business deserves a chance to shine. Her hope is that the advice she promotes and gives away will help someone achieve their dream.
