How to Add Hashtags Above Titles on YouTube Videos

YouTube is the second largest search engine and without a doubt, every single business should use YouTube in their marketing strategy.

Just like any other form of digital marketing, it’s all about producing content consistently and providing value. At the end of the day though, we all have the question of: how do you grow on YouTube?

How to grow on YouTube could be a blog post topic all by itself, but in this blog post, I can tell you how to add hashtags above titles on YouTube. This is one method to help people find your video and your channel and ultimately grow on YouTube.

This process is so incredibly easy, and I am constantly surprised when I see creators not using this feature.

Here is how you add hashtags above titles on YouTube:

  • Add 3 hashtags in the description box.

Literally, that is all you have to do. I like to use broad hashtags and leave the tags at the end of the description.

I’ve noticed that when you add the hashtags to the title box, the tags live right in the box, but when you add tags to the description box – the hashtags populate right above the title.

It appears that you can only have one item there so either hashtags or a location tag – but not both.

Boom- there you have it!
