Google Business Profile Video Verification Process

Dear Jennifer,

It’s a new year and a new me! I am starting up a new business and I want to make sure that I am getting on the map, as far as the internet goes anyway. I’m a B2C local shop that’s Veteran-owned - I noted that you too are a patriot at heart - I like that about you. While I am an expert in my craft, this whole local online marketing thing is overwhelming. While overwhelming, I would like to begin with my Google Business Profile listing as you’ve said in a lot of your content, it’s crucial for getting found. But I’ve already hit a roadblock…it’s asking me to verify my new listing by video. I didn’t even bother to understand it, I just shut down the tab, pulled up my email and here I am writing to you. Plus, now I have to figure out my good side in order to show I’m the business owner? What gives?

Can you please help me understand the video verification process?

Sincerely,

Bewildered Business Owner

Dear Bewildered Business Owner,

Thank you for your service! And it sounds like you’re off to a great start but just need a bit of a boost to get started.

I get it, online marketing can be overwhelming no doubt, but think of these tasks as little steps along the way that will help you get found online in really big ways - it’ll be worth it, I promise. And you’re right, Google Business Profile (GBP) is a great place to start.

Google has been leveraging video verifications more and more, so you’re not alone. I actually have prepared a video for you to show you exactly what to expect on your Google video verification call.  Take a gander at it and let me know how it goes. Best of luck with your new business venture, when you’re ready for a new website, be sure to give Digital Sargeant a call - that’s a specialty of ours too.
