Why it's important to think of solutions and workarounds quickly in business

Dear Jennifer,

Admittedly, I would be categorized as one of your older followers and hear me out…I am the owner of a family business and my kids are big fans of yours. My daughter loves your #bossbabe mentality and my son says your YouTube channel is solutions-based and goals focused - all characteristics that I love in a budding entrepreneur. While I too am an entrepreneur, I am needing some help in my old age, at the urging of my kids. I’m having a hard time thinking of solutions and workarounds quickly in my business. I can’t seem to keep up with the ever changing market. What’s an ‘ager’ supposed to do?

Fondly,

#BossDad

Dear #BossDad,

I love your enthusiasm! And look, it sounds like you’ve still got it so keep up with your vibrant and youthful approach to business.

I totally get the need to rethink business solutions. As your kiddos know all so well, Digital Sargeant prides itself on coming up with innovative and creative solutions for businesses. In fact, we think of problem solving as just another way to create value for your customers. That value will be the solution you offer your clients, as well as the solutions you create for yourself. The more value you create, the more your business will grow.

While much of our success is from trial and error as any entrepreneur knows, there are a handful of tools and techniques for you to consider:

Write Everything Down

When it comes to brainstorming solutions to a problem, we suggest writing down everything so you can see it in a different light.

Conduct a SWOT Analysis

SWOT is a great tool for strategic planning and bringing multiple viewpoints to the table when you’re looking at investing resources to solve a problem.

SWOT analysis is a strategic planning technique used to help a person or organization identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats related to business.

Conduct Consumer Research

Ask your best customers for help! Oftentimes when we do our creative thinking, we leave out our customers. Customers are often eager to let you know how to best solve a problem.

Use Tools
We’re all about metrics in this business. If you can track it, do it! While online programs and new technology programs can be intimidating, they are intended to help you. Consider checking out a couple.

For everything else, Digital Sargeant loves a good problem! So don’t count us out when it comes to solving your own problems. And be sure to tell your kids thank you for their support and yours too. It’s a pleasure!

Best,

Jennifer Sargeant
