Do You Need a Website to Advertise on Nextdoor?

If you’ve been asking yourself whether you need a website to advertise on Nextdoor? You’ll find out an answer very soon.

For those of you who are interested in advertising on Nextdoor but don’t have a website quite yet, I’m here to let you know that yes, you technically can advertise on Nextdoor. Instead of linking your call-to-action to an external website page, you would link to your organic Nextdoor business profile. This is an option for you if you’re using Nextdoor Lite or NAC (Nextdoor Advertising Center).

However, as an expert digital marketing ad buyer, it would be very bad for me to advocate for a business owner to link back to a Nextdoor profile whenever they may be advertising. The things about your business that you have on a website may be very similar to your Nextdoor profile, but your website will give you the opportunity to do bigger and better things.

Personally, I don’t know any successful local, small to medium, business that functions without a website. Keep this in mind.

If you’re advertising on Nextdoor, there is a good chance you’re in the home improvement industry, home services industry or something to do with serving your community (pressure washing, landscaping, driveway repair, handyman, contractor, bathroom remodeler, energy audits, appliance repair, etc.). In these industries, there is an element of trust that needs to be established between you and a potential customer, and that is where your website will come into play.

On your website, you can have items that are on your organic Nextdoor page, such as photos of the work you’ve done, testimonials, your story, and a contact button. All of these items are usually already on your profile, but a website adds an extra layer of trust. Potential customers can find more information about your business to give them the extra confidence to reach out.

If you approach me about advertising on NAC without a website, I’m going to have to pump the brakes right away. I’ll tell you that first, you need a website and I’ll be sure to explain why.
